“What are the cocks about?” asks my articulate friend in the pub last night. I say they’re about nothing, so he says “I don’t understand it.” You made the puzzle and now want me to solve it, and claim to be its maker. No one asks what my paintings of farm animals are about. Or think my paintings of trees must be a statement about trees.
Needless to say, I had the last laugh.
