AI Generated Art is the Best Thing to Happen to Painting Since Photography

Artists are fuming about AI generated art because it exposes them for the talentless charlatans they really are. Painters have been getting away with murder these last hundred years, but now, thankfully, their time is up. As a bonus debunk, AI also exposes the nonsense that time, effort and technical skill relate to artistic value.

Art isn’t a game of racking up brownie points. Time, effort and technical skill are excuses for bad art. Not qualities of good.

People are worried AI technology could replace human creatives. If it can then it should. If, what’s always been considered an expression of the human soul, is now demonstrably possible by something that doesn’t have one, then it’s good to know. AI isn’t the pretend artist. The pretend artist is the one AI enrages. AI does the world a favour by eradicating them.

They said photography would kill painting. It only killed bad painters. AI only kills bad artists

Now to add further fuel to the debate, someone’s just won a fine art competition with an AI-generated image. What a surprise. The glittering prizes machine, aka contemporary art world, is promoting work of no artistic value. What a U-turn. On cue, ‘artists are fuming’. It’s so predictable and pathetic. If only they’d read the Stuckist manifesto

Whatever you think of Jason Allen’s Théâtre D’opéra Spatial, if you only thought less of it once you discovered it’s AI generated, then it’s you that’s been found out. Not him, the artwork, the art prize, or the judges. You.
